Nuts.
Well, seems I’ll be busy all through next Wednesday, so I’m gonna go ahead and open up the ask box. http://ask-tourniquet.tumblr.com/ TMI Tuesday is still on, just don’t expect anything for it to be posted right away. ^^;

Started up the new blog over this-a-way -> http://ask-tourniquet.tumblr.com/ . Still setting everything up, but if all goes well, this’ll be the blog that I do right (i.e. no self-enforced isolation from other blogs, actually asking things, and no overarching story to try and maintain :p). It’s also sort of my tumblr debut for my own art (which is still pretty terrible ^^;).
And, what better way to start off the blog than with TMI Tuesday. Missed my chance this week (been too busy anyway), so I’ll kick off the blog and open up the ask box next Tuesday. Get those asks ready, y’all!
So soonish, relatively speaking, I may be starting up a mod/ask blog for this guy here. He’s a traveling physician that rooms with people in the places he travels to and works out of the homes he stays in or nearby clinics. He studied psychology though, not medicine, and mostly goes about his medical work playing by ear. He likes to pick up random facts as often as he can and has a profound understanding of magic, despite being limited to the very most physical magics by his “earth ponyism”.
Still don’t have a name for this fucker yet though. Helping Hooves sounds cliche and a bit weird and Psycho Semitic is…unfitting. Totally open for suggestions. :D
Also, how is the sketch? It’s the first time I’ve drawn a pony without tracing something (I know, I’m terrible) and I’m trying to decide if it’s complete enough on its own or if I should line and color it.
Yo, get over here and watch some comedic carnage! Some other tumblr mods will be coming in and out throughout the stream and we may do some other things later on. Maybe a reading or something. http://www.livestream.com/lessonswithisra
Mare Macabre: Welp, my motivation and inspiration for the blog are wearin’ thin. Love it to death, but I can’t for the life of me get myself to write for it. My guess is it’s getting too story oriented and lighthearted when I originally started this blog to be dark and non-sequential. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not cancelling the story, nor am I laying the blog to rest, I just need to take some time to get my head back into it.
In the meantime, I’ve got one or two other tumblr projects that have been gnawing at the back of my mind, so I won’t just up and disappear. I’ll post here when either/both of them get started.
‘Til then.
Twilight: Nothing to worry about, no. And I wouldn’t exactly call them ‘predators’, but no better terms come to mind.
Twilight: A wonderful question. No, magic isn’t a simple matter of will. Manifestation like that can only be done by those at the highest levels of dimensional actualization.
Unicorn magic is dictated by one’s ability to memorize and visualize. Every individual spell has its own fire letter, or series of fire letters (better known as runes) that must be remembered and projected into the mental environment. Visualization is key, as if the runes are misspelled the magic will not be directed in the way the caster wants it to. Also, different spells require different amounts of energy, usually those with more complex runes needing more and vice versa.
Essentially, a unicorn’s magic is limited by his or her ability to remember the necessary runes for directing magical intent and the amount of energy he or she is able to control. Theoretically, anypony can do complex and/or powerful magic, it all depends on their intellect and force of will.
Twilight: Not entirely, no. Very thankfully I’ve evolved myself to a point where any incoming threat to Equestria should be easily dealt with without the elements. However, the Princess tells me she’s made arrangements for if specific need of them ever arises.
Twilight: Sadly, no. I got tired of listening to them fight, so I decided to go on a little trip through the astral. It’s been far too long since I’ve been back here…
Twilight: For beings at my level, bilocation is as natural as breathing. It’s possible to project several versions of yourself into the same space and share a unified awareness through them all. However, using magic to the same effect creates a separate entity from oneself. It is artificial, and therefore, if not provided energy by its creator, it will eventually dissolve back into magical energy.
Twilight: I should be ten. I think.
Twilight: Oh, I’ve met plenty of people! Some sprites, a few lingering ponies, some trees spirits (who were surprisingly cranky), the spirit of a planet, that was pretty cool…
There are a few others, but I left my logs back in Canterlot.
Twilight: Okay, what the buck, people?
